Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival - KIMFF

8th KIMFF (9-13 December 2010)

Kathmandu City, the cosmopolitan heart of the Himalayan region, is hosting the eighth edition of Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival from December 9-13, 2010. KIMFF is dedicated to exploring the diverse and complex ways in which human beings relate to mountains; the festival seeks to foster a better understanding of human experiences as well as of the social and cultural realities in the highlands of the world.

KIMFF 2010 coincides with the International Year for Rapprochement of Cultures and this year’s focus will be on films that reflect the parallel challenges of preserving cultural diversity and cultural identities and promoting intercultural dialogue.  Simultaneously, we will celebrate the variety of life on earth by screening a section of films on safeguarding biodiversity.
